We are pleased to announce that ISDI, a joint effort of the Harvard Debate Council (HDC) and the University of Kentucky Tournament of Champions (TOC), has again agreed to waive participation fees for our Afghan female debate teams in their upcoming prestigious debate tournaments.
We will select qualified high school and middle school teams from the registered participants to participate and will provide training to prepare these teams for ISDI’s tournaments.
We are proud to share that one of our Afghan teams won the first round at the Harvard Debate UK TOC International Tournament in January 2026: https://lnkd.in/gFsbg4pP
Our goal is to empower Afghan female students to participate and raise their voices on the global stage by providing opportunities to compete in prestigious international debate tournaments. This visibility can help attract worldwide support for Afghan women’s education, with a practical emphasis on expanding online learning in the near term.
